Changes Coming to Roswell's Household Garbage Service
The City of Roswell is implementing a citywide Semi-Automatic Curbside Garbage Collection Program to begin citywide in mid-November.
The program features an automatic system that lifts uniform containers and dumps garbage into waste trucks. Due to the success of a pilot program that began in January 2018, Roswell Mayor and Council approved citywide implementation. The program has demonstrated a safer and more efficient collection of household garbage collection.
Each City of Roswell sanitation customer will receive a 96-gallon container for household garbage collection. Collection days will not change. Deliveries of garbage containers are expected to begin in mid-November. The new containers will be delivered curbside to each home. Residents should begin using City-provided containers on the next scheduled day of household garbage collection.
Customers residing in any of the four (4) Pilot Program areas will continue to use the City-provided container.
“Staff is so excited to integrate this program citywide. This program will provide for a more efficient collection of household garbage in our community. We are committed to serving Roswell by keeping it beautiful and this is one of the ways we do it,” said Nick Pezzello, City of Roswell Solid Waste Services Manager.
